Breakthrough on WhatsApp, you will finally be able to edit a sent message

As of now, WhatsApp will allow the editing of messages once they have been sent. This news was confirmed directly by Mark Zuckerberg, via a post on his Facebook page.

The main purpose of this feature, as illustrated by the image attached to the post, is to correct typos in messages.

An obvious example is the change from 'Beast of luck' to 'Best of luck', where a simple change of a letter can significantly change the meaning of a sentence.

Timing and visibility of changes
Once a message has been sent on WhatsApp, users will have up to fifteen minutes to make changes. However, it is important to note that any changes made will be visible to the recipients of the message. In particular, the changed message will include information on the date and time the change was made.
