Synonymous with capitalism and globalisation in all latitudes, McDonald's was born from the initiative of Ray Kroc, who in the 1950s realised the enormous potential of a restaurant in San Bernardino, California, run by the McDonald brothers.

Unique design and furnishings according to location
This is not your typical log cabin. The spacious and cosy McDonald's restaurant in Wisconsin has a warm and welcoming ambience and unique decorations, such as a bear carved out of wood and a mounted moose head. In many cases, McDonald's premises are not the usual prefabricated buildings, but absolutely unique and enjoyable architecture.

Located in the 'Alien Capital of the World', this flying saucer-shaped McDonald's lights up at night with holographic lights outlined on the outside of the building to complete the theme. Another beautiful example of how McDonald's is able to create fabulous places even today.

Located in the former Cafe Imperial building in Porto, Portugal, this McDonald's is commonly described as the most beautiful McDonald's in the world because of its stained glass windows, crystal chandeliers, intricate carvings along the walls and ceilings, and arched entrance. It is also considered the most beautiful in the world according to a ranking compiled by 'Architectural Digest'.

Only one McDonald's in the world has a turquoise sign.
Sedona is home to the only McDonald's with a turquoise logo. This Arizona location also has a Southwestern feel, with earthy tones of red and brown. Turquoise was chosen, simply, to harmonise with the beautiful red rocks and the surrounding Sedona desert.

The Neolithic site of Stonehenge, is located a few miles from Salisbury, England. Formed of huge stones, it is believed to have been an astronomical observatory in ancient times, with special significance at the solstice and equinox.
Specifically, these are huge megaliths positioned in a circular shape, topped by equally huge connecting lintels. The current position of the stones is the result of massive restoration that took place in the early part of the 20th century.
To this day, historians and scientists remain debated about its real significance. Included in UNESCO protected sites, today it is a popular tourist destination. The myths behind this place, even in 2023, are wasted.
