UN, what is 'Blue Economy': the project to raise awareness and care for the sea
A large part of human activities that can have an impact on the environment is carried out at sea (fishing, maritime transport, coastal tourism), in the oceans and on their shores. This obviously has a very negative impact on the environment if citizens and companies are not educated to be more respectful of the waters.
The 'Blue Economy' is a key project for the European 'Green Deal', obviously a series of measures to make energy production and the lifestyle of citizens throughout Europe more sustainable and less environmentally damaging.
The 'Blue Economy' not only focuses on reducing pollution and more sustainable exploitation of the seas in the long term, but also offers enormous potential for economic and job growth for all European citizens. Already 4.5 million people on the Continent are engaged in it, and much more work could come.

Environmental protection of oceans, seas and marine coastal resources is in fact an integral part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN 2030 Agenda. These are seventeen community and shared goals to make life better for everyone both environmentally and socially. In order to raise public awareness about the protection of the oceans and the sustainable management of its resources, the UN also created World Oceans Day, which takes place every year on 8 June.

Countries are ready to invest towards a sustainable 'Blue Economy'. The money that will be put on the table will be used, on the one hand, to improve the circular economy applied to the sector and, on the other hand, to try to reduce pollution. New standards are needed, for example, for the design of fishing gear, the recycling of ships or the dismantling of fossil fuel platforms.

Speaking of renewable energy production, technologies related to the sea and oceans are both offshore wind with power plants built on sheets of water and photovoltaics with floating solar panels. These are technologies and sectors that require investment in research and technology development to improve in effectiveness within a reasonable timeframe. In addition, a lot of money needs to be spent on training: different skills are needed for future young workers, while at the same time adapting the skills of those still working in the fossil industry.

Another goal of the 'Blue Economy' is to sponsor and promote actions that significantly decrease plastic and microplastic pollution in the oceans. A posteriori actions, such as fishing plastic out of the oceans, are not considered a good idea by experts in pollution and marine biology, for many reasons. The best way to contain this type of pollution is therefore to reduce plastic production and eliminate the problem at source.

The four main consumer rights are: the right to product safety, to full information, to a free choice and to be heard. Often, however, especially in online transactions, not everything is as clear as it should be, and one often runs the risk of running into scams.
Suspicious e-mails, random links, false information, fake websites: these and many other things undermine our computer security, as do outdated passwords and careless consumers. The phenomenon of online scams is much more widespread than people think, with hundreds of thousands of victims worldwide every year.
However, there are some very simple guidelines to help you defend yourself. Nothing complicated, just a few behaviours to follow if you want to surf more safely. Here are some tips on how to arm yourself against online scams.

The Neolithic site of Stonehenge, is located a few miles from Salisbury, England. Formed of huge stones, it is believed to have been an astronomical observatory in ancient times, with special significance at the solstice and equinox.
Specifically, these are huge megaliths positioned in a circular shape, topped by equally huge connecting lintels. The current position of the stones is the result of massive restoration that took place in the early part of the 20th century.
To this day, historians and scientists remain debated about its real significance. Included in UNESCO protected sites, today it is a popular tourist destination. The myths behind this place, even in 2023, are wasted.
